There’s nothing like a steamy hot bowl of chili on a cold snowy day. What’s even better is having it ready within 35 minutes from start to finish.
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • 2 cups water
